Determine a band’s leader by analyzing a publicity photo.

The Process:
You, dear reader, please answer the question, “Who’s in charge here?”

After sufficient discussion has taken place, a verdict can then be passed based on a majority vote.

    Pink shirt is trying to hard to be cute, even for a band named “Cute Is What We Aim For,”* so he’s not in charge and neither is Tiny Colin Farrell next to him. I gotta go with Hippy Matthew McConaughey there, third from left. He towers over the others in the band and takes them under his wing. He is truly the Gandalf to these musical Hobbits.

    *By the way, they have officially run out of band names now, haven’t they?

    My vote goes to Scrunchy McFace-up Buffalo T-Shirt Man. The others all look like bit-part players.

    May I also note that this band do seem to fall short of their aims, on the basis of this picture.

    i was almost misled by the bright red shirt, and jaded girl makes a strong case for the tree. however, i’ll (again) vote for the guy on the right – this time because he’s the only one who bothered to shave.

    redshirt is just sucking up to the boss, and the two on the left are disgusted with him for that. 😉

    I misread this totally, I looked hard and thought it was Mr Sucking lemons second from left, but then realised pink shirt guy looked even more sour and was possibly holding a blade in second from right guy’s kidney so I felt pink shirt was in charge, as for the Bee Gee wannabee and his poodle…well.
    Wonders if it’s my aberrant cultural sterotyping or sumfink.

It must be Bee Gee Matthew McConaughey, smiling as he contemplates the many acts of buggery he intends to visit upon young Tiny Colin “Frodo” Farrel. He Who Frowns At Buffalo drew some fake tats on with a Sharpie; he’s clearly the drummer.

    The guy in the red sweater . . .because he’s wearing red and everyone knows that’s a power color. Also, he’s comfortable enough with himself to drape his arm casually over a bandmate and just look away — if you’re that cool, you must be in charge. Uh, right?

    I wonder if Mr. Red Shirt is saying through smiling, gritted teeth “Usurp my authority again, effer, and I’ll chop your balls off”. I mean, if he is saying that, I gotta give him mad props, because I just tried to do it and it’s kinda hard.
    I’m going with Mr. Red Shirt’s Teeth! The pearlies are in charge!

    And I chuckled pretty heartily at Rhubarb’s comment about ending sentences in prepositions. 😉

    They should be named, “We Aim for Cheerios in the Potty”

    It’s risky to choose a complete sentence as a band name. Sometimes it works: Pop Will Eat Itself, They Might Be Giants, Yo La Tengo. But often it doesn’t. I’m looking at you, Color Me Badd.

    Rhubarb was correct to point out the problematic preposition at the end of the sentence. But these guys went beyond that: they inexcusably used the passive voice in their band name. “We Aim for Cute” would’ve sounded stronger and would’ve fit better on their tour shirts.

    I was torn between metrosexual Matthew McConaughey and pubescent Ben Affleck in the pink shirt. Employing the band’s wince-inducing grammar: McConaughey is who I am voting for.

    I am going with No facial hair for the reason Jillian gave. Think about it, he decided NOT to grow the patchy beard. To me that shows leadership, why have a crappy beard and look like the other three shmucks when you can be clean shaven and get all the ladies. That’s what he is thinking and that’s why he is in charge.

    Matthew McConaughey is clearly in charge. Not only is he foisting his manlove on those short tussled pups, he’s emasculated them with a flowering tree and a fruity band name. Mark my words: these guys will never, ever get a date. I’ll bet it’s cold outside too, and he told them not to pack a sweater. Laugh it up, Matthew McConaughy. You’ll get yours. In hell.

    On first inspection I though that the tall guy in the red cardigan was in charge but then I realized that what I thought was leadership is actually clinging on ness. He is trying to steal the fame and glory for himself. He is definitely NOT in change, he just wants people to think that he is best mates with the guy who is in charge therefore making him the best So obviously after a little bit on analyzing far right guy in the black cardigan and whit tee is in charge. slight smirk / smile, he knows that what he says goes. The other 2 guys on the left weren’t even in the running. Far right guy…you are so in charge.

    Jesus is in charge! He had to come back and form a band about cuteness, I mean, have you seen the new pope? That is one seriously ugly evil looking guy. He’s totally derailing Jesus’ cute message.

    Plus, I happen to know that the picture was taken in early September but Jesus made the trees blossom. Because he can. And only Jesus would get away with a candy apple cardigan.

    Wow.. CIWWAF is like.. my favorite band.. and “matthew” is actually shaant.. and while i must admit that they are not the most attractive men on earth, they’re aiming for it and that’s at least something :P. Also, maybe you guys should listen to a record before judging them.. that’s just the look rock bands need to get by these days!
